16th Annual Food Drive
The 16th Annual Letter Carriers Food Drive -- held on May 10th -- was a tremendous community effort and a huge success! The National Association of Letter Carriers, United Way of Merrimack County, and the Capital Regional Food Program collaborated on this project that resulted in over 7 tons of food being collected, sorted, and distributed to 18 agencies in the greater Concord area.

17th Annual Day of Caring
United Way’s Day of Caring is an annual event where volunteers from the community and local businesses give their time and talents by volunteering with participating nonprofit agencies to work on one-time service projects in an effort to impact our communities' needs. Whether it’s painting a house, washing windows, packing food boxes, visiting with the elderly, or playing with children – our volunteers tackle projects of all kinds.

“2-1-1 NH is the most successful statewide project to date initiated by all ten United Ways,” said Elizabeth Hager, Executive Director of United Way of Merrimack County. “We have secured a wonderful partnership with Public Service of New Hampshire (PSNH) to provide in-kind services of space, utilities and technology.

Rumford Society
United Way of Merrimack County’s Rumford Society gathered at Bridges House on June 18, 2008 to celebrate a successful leadership giving campaign.  The Rumford Society includes 350 local donors who make an annual gift of $1,000 or more to United Way.  The event was generously sponsored by Northeast Delta Dental.

United Way to disburse more than $1.53 million
Early this month United Way of Merrimack County notified thirty-eight health and human service programs and agencies that they will receive more than $1.53 million over the next year.
